Alexander Brand
Webster
The story of: Alexander Brand Webster.  1842- 1923. Age 24, saloon passenger.

Lots of newspaper scans - allow time to open. I have added them in chronological & best fit order. All sourced from Trove. These ones are those dated after Alexander's 1923 death, about his warehouse, company, the Whinstanes house and family. Also added some maps showing the warehouse and Whinstanes locations.

1920 map of Brisbane. I have circled the Whinstanes property and also marked the location on Mary street of the warehouse.
1904 Brisbane and Surrounds map. I marked up the Webster & Co warehouse location and also Redcliffe, Deception Bay where ABW had his holiday home, and Bribie Island where he established steamer excursion day trips.
2017 Google map showing where Whinstanes House stood - the property border was College Road (whole property likely went beyond the now Southern Cross Way). Note Hilda and Alison streets named after ABW's daughters.)
Fabulous ad from 1918 when ABW subdivided part of the Whinstanes estate along Alison and Hilda streets (named after his daughters).
9 Oct 1994 in the Catholic Leader - articles about the reunion of the boys who went through Whinstanes when it was a college.
